RED ALERT!   Warn yourself with all the cautiousness you can muster when you're chitchatting with your customer while they're buying, and you're listing things, and computing their bought goods. When payment time comes, and you'll be giving their change, use a Declarative Sentence, "Here is your change." If you know him, "John, your change." If not, some customers would use a declarative sentence instead that they've not yet received their change, not out of ill will but loss of memory. Being that short term memory is already processing 3 things; conversing, deciding, estimating, that the 4th, receiving the change, did not made it to be processed into long term memory. Either or, you or they become bitter that such an insignificant short moment can turn your positive conversations and transaction the other way around.
