Multitasking or Focusing?
I shifted to focusing when the fad for multitasking raised criticisms. There should of course be balance and caution when multitasking. The criticisms have been well said like a mother should not breastfeed while driving and answering a phone call at the same time. I have taken good notes and have addressed the issues on my own circumstances. It also raised fear that multitasking is actually not getting things done unlike focusing. But the concern should include our christian recommendation not to waste time and even do two things one can handle at the same time reminding us that God wants us to use our limited time on earth to do good and bear much fruit. I noticed that I can handle more customers at the same time when practicing multitasking in general, taking care to please the Lord in all things especially in my use of God given time.
Note however that some things need our focus and some things need to be handled by a multitasker in us. You should then discern when to turn on and off these two capacities in you. To better inform you of the said processes read 'Bottleneck' slows brain activity on BBC News.
