Healthy Competition?
I'm an opinionated person 😅 so I need to relax first. (inhale...exhale...)
The scenario: US is intensifying its sanction of China again for just giving for free the best of their AI in a Manus alternative. Before, it was DeepSeek. Why would US do that? Don't they want consumers to benefit, and not question their "too high appraisal and costings of AI development?" Well if not for the fact that rumors are saying that Manus was just the best Claude version with all its features turned on. So another possible intellectual property grab again just like the issue with DeepSeek. The open source software was actually not expecting anybody to use it and loose some of that trillion dollar investment connected to all things AI. Neither Manus nor Deepseek violated any until the two AI was released. Well anybody can still use the opensources they created and the world was amazed. So it was actually an exchange. It's a conundrum that even Llama, the transformer that inspired DeepSeek is questioning Meta's policy as not open.
America is the land of intellectual property. And don't tell me you've not benefited from using free Microsoft and Windows products! Don't tell me that their continuous development isn't benefiting humanity. Because of YouTube University I learned a lot of things. I am sharing my ideas here for free, blogger.com, another Google product with good security. The idea is that before it can be user friendly and developed to its full potentiality, so much money has to be spent first. So on and so forth.
As Filipinos, we have almost a Chinese business strata. Let's just focus on what will clarify our discussion here on the idea of liit kita, pero dami kita. The idea should not be absolutized as much as the idea of not questioning the high appraisal of AI (although many can compute the actual expenses it has incurred, and needs of course to think how the hell will it at least be returned). In short, kailangang kumita ng tindahan mo at wag kang mamatay sa gutom man lamang. That's the basic minimum. But the businesses are the ones that give us employment too. If we would just limit its income generation to the minimum, then it wouldn't be able to develop and give at least more opportunity for more people for example.
(Securing even its future development.) At ito ay achievable sa pagpapatong ng tamang tubo lamang o fair pricing, not too high but also not too low.
Fair pricing is a pricing strategy that balances affordability for customers and profitability for businesses while considering ethical, market, and economic factors. It ensures that the price reflects the true value of a product or service without exploiting consumers or undercutting competitors unfairly. -ChatGPT, 4o, 17 March 2025.
Sana ay madiscuss natin sa susunod ang value-based pricing or pwede mo na itong iresearch upang maunawaan at magamit mo sa iyong tindahan like mas healthy ang milk shake mo kaya mas mahal sa kompetisyon o sugar-free o less sugar kaya mura o maliit.
Don't be shy price tagging your products and receiving that fair price payment from your customers. It would empower you to do more good and ensures the existence of your fellow stores which should also ensure the growth of local employment and fair wage to workers.
P.S. Bili pa ng mura o too good to be true!😄
US is getting its lost investments back via tariff, a mighty state has gone back to its old ways of trade injustices (let's hope it's effect isn't injustice but only correction) after seeing its WTO ways are doing itself a disservice. The only way out is a working justice system in trade. Let's pray the world may sort it out as soon as possible.
St. Homobonus, pray for us!
