RED ALERT! Warn yourself with all the cautiousness you can muster when you're chitchatting with your customer while they're buying, and you're listing things, and computing their bought goods. When payment time comes, and you'll be giving their change, use a Declarative Sentence, "Here is your change." If you know him, "John, your change." If not, some customers would use a declarative sentence instead that they've not yet received their change, not out of ill will but loss of memory. Being that short term memory is already processing 3 things; conversing, deciding, estimating, that the 4th, receiving the change, did not made it to be processed into long term memory. Either or, you or they become bitter that such an insignificant short moment can turn your positive conversations and transaction the other way around.

Can't blame those who have no choice but to sell cigar. But those who can bear the sacrifice of the options, need to. First of all before we decided to drop cigarette selling, by God's providence, we're already used to loading cell phones. It was my prayer then to let God give us some form of sales augmentation to make up for the loss of cigarette, not just the income, but more than that, the mix of your store goods to which people would really know why they're coming back to your store. They're not coming back to our store to get their fix, but to snack and rest while getting their load and buying fair and reasonably priced goods if not comparable to supermarket prices. That way they wouldn't get angry why we aren't selling them cigarette. I pray that you might get some of that income generator aside from cigarette, so that you can already decide to release cigarette from your goods. Convenience store really don't earn that much here in the Ph...
List of Common Tricks or Modus

Updated 14 September 2019...by Your Cross and Resurrection You have saved the world... The focal point of listing all tricks or modus here is not my main point, I've realized. This can go on and one still gets conned. Only a prayer, we sometimes think is not helping us become financially stable daily, is out there to save us from our enemies. Perhaps while praying you still get duped, but hey it's not big time, and maybe God is saying to you hey wake up or something more ominous is coming. Here in the Philippines saying fifteen and fifty peso load sounds too similar, one in every million times I slip from not clarifying if it's singkuwenta or kinse lang. And customers will tell it's your fault since I've said only fifteen and I only have twenty pesos here with me. Whether or not the customer did it on purpose since the customer looks familiar who always changes looks and tactics and shows at your store when you least expect, I just thanked God I was not kidnapped...
Avoid Tricksters?

"...crooks were always looking for a 'new spin' to exploit human frailty." No you can't avoid trickster, because they would come and buy in your store! You're always caught unaware. You'll realize it after that you've been conned. Another new trick to avoid in the future. Yes, multitaskers and fast sellers are the most prone target. Because not everybody is honest and even honest person errs, such disheartening experiences cannot but be self punishing too. Only a prayer of entreaty to your favorite saint can protect you. Offer the opening of the store to God's gracious benediction, and close it with thanksgiving. Such practice would help a lot to ward off fear of such uncontrollable variables like tricksters. After you've done carefully not to get conned while you've still been, being hard on yourself will only makes things worse. A CCTV evaluation though will only become a warning for other people to be on their guard, while iden...
Slow Down While Accepting Payment

I told myself, "From now on you record like a movie how your customers got their money on their pockets, laid it on the counter, and you make sure they got their change, so that you can tell them the whole story like an airplane black box. (A CCTV camera is better then.) One beautiful early morning something unexpected happened. I gave the customer her packaged good, and she left without paying. I called on her that she's not yet paid, while she insisted all along that she already paid me. What really happened? While I was packing her goods, her small child is menacing her for a chocolate she doesn't want to buy for a reason, but end up still buying it, and unconsciously opened her purse and paid me the chocolate, gave the chocolate to the kid and slipped unconsciously her other payment back to her purse, got the packaged good and left. You can see how haggard she was to go back home already because she's carrying too much goods bought from other stores. That's rea...
Tindero on Super Saiyan?

A tindero in a sari-sari store more often becomes short of a soothsayer. He needs a seminar on how to read customer's mind if he has not been blessed with telepathic power. "Pabili ngang asukal, kape, at kopimeyt." The customer doesn't speak anymore. The customer looking at the coffemate pack becomes the easiest to guess. "80 grams pong coffemate?" "Oo." After getting the coffemate, somewhat confident at the first guess asks, "Nescafe 25 grams po ba?" "De yung premium," then stops speaking again. He guessed it's a 25 grams pack, got and gave it without asking, then asked, "Kalahati pong washed?" "De yung wamport lang. Magkano lahat?" agad-agad as if the tindero has a super calculator mind to envy POS system. Seriously, a tindero only needs to read the nonverbals as I've mentioned on my other blogs here. No need to try to become telepathic. The motive of loving service empowers him enough. To be of hel...
